WE STAND WITH THE PEOPLE OF PALESTINE

AGAINST THE GREEK AND TURKISH GOVERNMENT’S COMPLICITY IN GENOCIDE

The “Trump plan” for Gaza is not a peace plan, not even a ceasefire, but a continuation of genocide, occupation and exploitation of the Palestinian people, as proved during its implementation. It opens the road leading to the annexation of the occupied Palestinian land in Israel – which, at the same time, is trying to de facto expand its borders, also violating the territorial integrity of Syria and Lebanon.

The US and Israel’s dream of a “new Middle East” is part of the general intensification of imperialist antagonisms, which are breaking in Ukraine, Africa and Latin America also. The path to freedom and true self-determination is impossible without a determined struggle against imperialism and Zionism.

The Greek-Turkish bourgeoisie antagonism is using Gaza genocide as a tool to promote their own inerests, within the US/NATO alliance. The Greek government stands absolutely by Israel in its criminal policy. The NATO bases in Greece are in the service of Israel, participating directly in the military operations. Greek frigates had a crucial role, patrolling the Red Sea. Support for Israel is an expression of the Greek bourgeoisie’s choice to claim an expanded piece of the spoils of the economic resources and energy routes of the South Eastern Mediterranean through the EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zones), creating the aggressive Greece-Israel-Egypt-Cyprus axis. The involvement of the Greek state in Israel’s genocidal war is “justified” presenting the Palestinian resistance as “allies of Turkey”, in order to stop the huge wave of solidarity within the Greek people.

On the other hand, Erdogan was quick to welcome the Trump plan, despite promoting himself as a “protector of the Palestinian people”. The AKP government continued its commercial relation with Israel during its murderous attacks on Gaza. The aspirations of the Turkish bourgeoisie are fοundαmentally part of the US/NATO camp and the islamist rhetoric is a weapon to strengthen its influence as a regional power, crushing the struggles of the working class and youth inside Turkey. Τhe government's continued trade with Israel co-existed with official “pro-Palestine rallies”, organized by the AKP, to satisfy its electoral Islamist base.

These policies are exacerbating the unjust and dangerous Greek-Turkish bourgeois rivalry on both sides. This is why the struggle against complicity in the massacre in Palestine, in favor of the struggle of the Palestinian people, is also a struggle against capitalist interests and antagonisms, against imperialist plans, in favor of friendship and cooperation between peoples, not armaments and wars.

We stand with the people of Palestine more than ever! Equally strong is the condemnation of the governments in Greece and Turkey as complicit in genocide, ethnic cleansing, and support for Trump's "peace plan." We stand with respect for the heroic Palestinian resistance. We stand alongside especially to the anti-imperialist forces that are fighting the battle for the full liberation. We salute the millions of demonstrators who took to the streets around the world in support of Palestine. Peoples are not opposed to Jews, Muslims, Christians, members of another ethnicity. These divisions are promoted by the capital to hide the real enemies of the peoples: Capitalism, racism, war, fascism.

The struggle of the Palestinian people for freedom is non-negotiable. The Palestinians have the right to have their own state, on their historic lands, with the return of millions of refugees. Not a patronized state consisting of ghettos of settlements.
