Iran: Imperialist intervention can be crushed only by a free people and internationalist solidarity!

The preparation and open declaration of a crude imperialist intervention by the United States and Israel, with the “recruitment” of all kinds of agents, Trump’s direct threats of a military attack on Iran, and the plans to impose a government friendly to U.S. interests can and must be defeated by the struggling Iranian people, with the active solidarity of the anti-war movement’s struggles in the West.

The “crocodile tears” of the capitalist/imperialist West, including the Greek government, convince no one. They are the same forces that aided the genocide of the heroic Palestinian people; the same forces that show no “democratic sensitivity” when it comes to their allies, such as the the theocratic and reactionary Saudi Arabia and the Egyptian junta that does business with Zionist Israel.

There are only two things the United States can “offer” Iran: a reactionary king who has parasitized the West for 50 years, and of course the plunder of oil, as clearly demonstrated by the developments of imperialist intervention in Venezuela.

At the same time, however, while Trump expresses his “solidarity” (!) with the struggling people of Iran and leaves open the possibility of a new U.S. military intervention in the country, on the other side of the Atlantic social anger and protests are flaring up against the fascist squads of ICE and the blatant murder of Rene Good.

Only a free people in Iran, with guaranteed basic social and democratic rights, can block the imperialist attack and keep the flag of solidarity with Palestine flying high.

Workers’ and youth anger has flooded the streets of Tehran and dozens of other Iranian cities, with daily clashes between demonstrators and the security forces of the Iranian government. The explosion of the working class and the poor strata of Iranian society is the result of the sharp increase in poverty and the cost of living due to the criminal U.S. economic sanctions, as well as the choices of the Iranian bourgeoisie and the Khamenei regime. At the same time, the demand for democratic freedoms constitutes the deepest demand of the struggling masses, especially among younger generations and women who do not “fit” within theocratic despotism. Women’s resistance acts as a multiplier of the uprising, thus picking up the thread from the uprising of 2022 following the murder of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini by the notorious “morality police.”

The labor struggles and strikes that expressed the anger of the poorest strata, and the great mobilization of the Iranian people despite murderous state repression, contain hopeful elements and bring to the forefront the possibility of broader social and political upheavals in favor of the working class, women, and the new generation, beyond and against oppressive reactionary and/or theocratic regimes, capitalist and imperialist exploitation. The effort by conservative forces inside and outside Iran, the United States and Israel, to impose as a political alternative the restoration of Pahlavi, son of the widely hated Shah, or another pro-Western puppet, does not appear to have significant resonance among the popular strata, as it represents a historical regression and would be a reactionary development.

As Communist Liberation and nKA, we express our militant solidarity with the people of Iran, with all those who struggle for their social and democratic rights, and especially with the workers’, youth, and popular forces that have a class, left-wing, and anti-imperialist orientation.

Against the United States, “we are all Iranians.” Against the theocratic, despotic regime, we stand with the popular uprising.

We support the struggles against gender oppression in Iran, as in every corner of the Earth, for women’s emancipation and liberation.

We insist on the necessity and possibility of new, contemporary, victorious social revolutions in the 21st century. These can be the work of the the working classes and not of the so-called “anti-imperialist” bourgeoisies that know how to denounce imperialism only up to the limits set by their own state interests and the cynical logic of “spheres of influence.” Only the working classes and the peoples, through their internationalist solidarity, can overturn the nightmarish era of wars, exploitation, and oppression that capitalism seeks to drag us into. They can chart the path of freedom, a dignified life, peace, equality, culture, and solidarity, in the perspective of a new era of communist liberation.

We strengthen our struggle against the New Democracy government and the deadly alliance of Greek capital with the United States, the EU, and Israel.

We demand immediate withdrawal from NATO and the EU, the removal of U.S. bases, the severance of relations with Israel, and the recognition of a Palestinian state.

No involvement of Greece and the U.S. bases in our country in a potential U.S. strike against Iran, as happened in June 2025.
